St. Michael’s Church graces the storied corner of Broad and Meeting at 71 Broad Street - Charleston’s famed “Four Corners of Law”.
St. Michael’s Anglican Church (formerly St. Michael’s Episcopal Church) has watched over the city for centuries - its white steeple serving as a true “Holy City” compass point. It was built in the colonial era between 1752 and 1761. The elegant Georgian design was inspired by London’s Marin-in-the-Fields and the beloved ring of eight bells was cast in London in 1764. It is Charleston’s oldest surviving church building.
